Hardware Products - DigiFRAMESTOR & DigiEMULATOR

Overview

DigiFRAMESTOR & DigiEMULATORThe DigiFRAMESTOR/DigiEMULATOR Recorder is a high-end computer that thinks it's a DigiBETA and more.... giving high-performance of uncompressed D1 and D5 video data. Using its own disk array the DigiEMULATOR provides several hours of storage
capacity. The DigiFRAMESTOR/DigiEMULATOR is a compact all-in-one solution for all kinds of uncompressed video and audio post-production such as:

Graphics,
Rendering,
Animation,
Rotoscoping &
Non-Linear Editing

Standard Components
The DigiFRAMESTOR/DigiEMULATOR Recorder is supplied in 3u or 4u formats with removable hard disk drives in a caddie module, depending on the users requirements and offers high speed, high quality Video in a cost effective and easily expandable platform. Running under Windows NT, Solaris, Linux, or IRIX, DigiEMULATOR Recorder fits into a wide range of platforms covering user requirements. The DigiFRAMESTOR/DigiEMULATOR delivers high quality Video/Audio into post-production environment with seamless integration.

Variety of Video Standards
DigiEMULATOR Recorder provides multi-standard D1 and D5 (true 16:9 aspect ratio) rasters at 50 and 60 Hz. Multi-partitioned video storage allows the user to work on projects in different video standards without hassle.

RGB Modes and Key Channel
An optional daughter board adds several I/O formats to the DigiEMULATOR Recorder:

RGB/4:4:4, YUV-Alpha/4:2:2:4 & RGB-Alpha/4:4:4:4

Progressive-D1 standard (upon request)
Storage may be either in YUV or RGB independent of the I/O format.

Stereo Audio Channels
4×2 channels of embedded audio (Audio-in-Video) are available as on digital VTRs; the audio data is stored together with the video data on the video disks. With the optional CSP-Audio/AES board the audio data can be stored on an additional audio disk providing more flexibility such as slipsyncing audio and video.

Control Software
DigiEMULATOR Recorder comes with various software tools: a graphical user interface (VGUI), a built-in web server, and a command line interface (sv). It supports control functions and data transfer between the DigiEMULATOR Recorder, VTRs, and local hard disks from local and remote hosts. The built-in web server allows setup and configuration of the DigiEMULATOR Recorder using a standard browser. This includes video modes, audio setup, sync modes, video partitions, and many more.Alternatively, the command line interface may be used for setup, control, and automated batch processing.

Remote Access for UNIX
Remote shell (rsh) and remote copy (rcp) enable DigiEMULATOR Recorder control and image transfer to and from remote UNIX workstations.

Clip Management and Play List
The ClipManager supports easy-to-use audio and video clip administration as well as non-linear play lists.

Application Support
Several plug-ins and the network video file system (nvfs) integrate DigiEMULATOR Recorder into various applications such as Adobe Premiere, Kinetix 3D Studio Max, and others. The nvfs provides local and remote access to the video data via the host file system. The data is automatically converted between the supported application file formats and the internal storage format.
An optional SDK '” a C-Library API '” can be used to integrate the DigiEMULATOR Recorder into your own applications
