Blade HD QuickStart GuideThis quick start guide applies to firmware version 1.0 and upwards. If you have a Blue OSD on your BladeHD, you need to upgrade the firmware. All BladeHD units have DHCP enabled by default. The default video resolution is 720p which outputs on VGA and DVI. If your screen does not support the default video resolution or you do not see a video signal, follow the steps for Opening the OSD Menu. Then use the F11 key to change to a lower resolution or F12 to a higher resolution. Wait 5 seconds between each change to allow the screen to adjust. Opening the On Screen Display (OSD) Menu 1. Plug a USB keyboard into a USB socket on the BladeHD. Do not use any Mac keyboard with the Blade HD, due to know compatibility issues. 2. Press and hold the Alt key, then press the Escape key. With firmware version 1.0.1.2 and above, the Scroll light on the keyboard will be illuminated when the OSD menu is showing on the screen. Changing Network Settings 1. Attach a network cable to the BladeHD. Use a Cross-over cable for connections between a computer and the BladeHD, use a Patch cable if the connection goes through a network (router, hub, or switch, etc). 2. Follow the steps above for Opening the OSD Menu. 3. Select Network Settings, press Enter. If the BladeHD is using DHCP (and DHCP is supported on your network), the current IP address is displayed on the bottom left corner of the menu. To edit a field, use the arrow keys to move to the field (the selected field will be highlighted yellow) and press Enter. Press Enter again to save field changes. Press Escape to cancel any field changes. To enable DHCP, type dhcp into the IP Address field. 4. When you have finished entering the new settings. Press Escape to save changes and reboot the BladeHD. Please refer to the BladeHD Sync Quick Start Guide for information on setting up syncing. If using BladeRUNNER HD software, please ensure that the software has permissions under User Account Control (UAC) and access through Windows Firewall. IF IT IS BLOCKED OR HAS NO PERMISSIONS, NO BLADEHD WILL CONNECT TO THE SOFTWARE. When playing a newly encoded/transcoded file, NEVER set it as a Default File until you are sure that it plays on the BladeHD with no problems. Install file to BladeHD then ask to Play only.
